When setting up ads, it’s important to target the right audience. Basic targeting involves focusing on three key areas: age, location, and interests.

Here’s how you can set up these elements effectively:

1. Age Targeting
Age targeting allows you to reach people within a specific age range that is most relevant to your product or service.

Determine your ideal age group: Think about the age range of your typical customer.

Example: If you're selling skincare products for younger consumers, you might target people between 18-35 years old. If you're promoting retirement services, you may target those aged 50+.

Adjust based on your product: Ensure the age range matches your product or service offering.

2. Location Targeting
Location targeting helps you focus on specific geographic areas where your audience is likely to be.

Choose regions, cities, or countries: You can target users in particular countries, states, cities, or even specific neighborhoods.

Example: If you run a local restaurant, you’ll want to target people within your city or surrounding areas.

Expand or narrow your location: If you're offering an online service, you may want to target an entire country or even multiple countries. For local businesses, stick to areas within driving distance.

Location Examples:
Local Business: Target users within a 25-mile radius of your business.
E-commerce: Target users in regions where your product ships.

3. Interest Targeting
Interest targeting lets you show your ads to people who are interested in topics related to your product or service.

Select interests that align with your business: Choose categories that fit your audience’s preferences.

Example: If you're selling fitness equipment, target users interested in “Health & Fitness,” “Exercise,” and “Wellness.”

Broad or specific: Depending on your product, you can target broad interests (e.g., “Fashion”) or more specific ones (e.g., “Sustainable Fashion”).

Example Setup:

Product: Online Fitness Coaching

Age: 25-45 years old
Location: Nigeria targeting major cities like Abuja , Lagos, Portharcourt
Interests: “Fitness,” “Healthy Eating,” “Wellenss,” “Home Workouts”

By using basic targeting with age, location, and interests, you’ll ensure your ads are seen by the right audience, increasing the chances of engagement and success.
